Is mentoring right for you?
While thinking about a volunteering commitment, you may want to ask yourself a few of the following questions:
Do I have 10-12 hours a month to spend time with a child?
Can I commit to a one year mentoring relationship?
Am I at a stable place in my own life to develop a trusting relationship with a mentee?
Do I have reliable transportation?
Do I have time to regularly connect with the Mentor Duluth staff and participate in some of the activities that are offered to mentors and mentees?
Can I attend a mentor orientation and at least one other training a year?
If you are able to answer yes to these questions than Mentor Duluth could be a great fit for you! When signing up to be a mentor you are volunteering to be a friend and a listener, a positive role model, and a resource and guide for a child. You are responsibly agreeing to share your time and open your life to a child in need of a caring friendship. To learn more about this opportunity you may contact one of our Mentor Duluth Program Advocates. You will be able to confidentially discuss more about volunteering with our program!
