Match of the Month
Bill Scott and James

Congratulations to Bill and James for being honored as December´s Match of the Month!
Bill and James have been matched for three years and are going strong! James says he has learned a lot of "life skills" from Bill. Bill is an outstanding outdoorsman and together they have gotten their hunting, fishing, and snowmobile permits, focusing on safety for each of the sports. One of their favorite activities is spending a weekend at Bill´s resort in Lake of the Woods and putting their fishing skills to good use.
James and Bill both enjoy traveling. They have visited North Carolina and Canada together and are planning to go to Florida to snorkel in the future. Bill´s most recent project is guiding family–oriented trips based out of his new cabin in Alaska! James is planning on visiting Alaska this summer to help Bill with the trips.
Another upcoming event for the match is Bill´s wedding in May 2008. James is going to be the Best Man!
Because their match has been such a blessing to both, they are always brainstorming ways to recruit more mentors and fun activity possibilities for Mentor Duluth waiting list kids.
Thank you for your commitment and great friendship!

Meet our New Staff
- Jessica Colaizy
- Hi! My name is Jessica Colaizy and I am a new Mentor Duluth Program Advocate, based out of the Valley Youth Center in West Duluth. I received my B.A.S. degree from UMD in 2005, with a major in Psychology. In college, I also volunteered with Mentor Duluth! I´ve spent the last two years as an AmeriCorps Promise Fellow, working with volunteers, elementary schools, and mentoring programs in the Twin Cities. I moved back to Duluth in August and am so excited to be by the Lake again! I like to spend my free time outside or getting together with friends and family. I am eager to meet the volunteers and families in Mentor Duluth and am thankful to have the experience of working with such an outstanding program.
