Mentor Duluth March News
"March" into Mentoring!!!
"March" into Mentoring! Mentor Duluth celebrates spring with a big challenge. We are looking for 31 mentors in 31 days. Is it possible? Nearly 200 youth waiting for mentors certainly hope so.
As a mentor, you get to share what you know – and maybe learn a few new things along the way. Mentors and mentees enjoy many different activities together including fishing, biking, crafting, swimming, cooking, reading, movies, walking, talking and much more.
We are looking for mentors who come from all walks of life. Mentors must be 18 years or older with a reliable means of transportation. We believe that a willingness to have fun and the patience to build a strong friendship with a young person are key requirements of a great mentor.
This March, make a difference in a child’s life. Become a mentor. For more information, call 722-4745, x120 or stop by the Mentor Duluth office at the YMCA.
Note: Possible side effects include fun, friendship, laughter, new experiences, discovering new places, a chance to be a kid again and exciting adventures.

Match of the Month
This month, Ted and Isaiah are celebrating their first year anniversary of being matched through Mentor Duluth. During the past year, they have had lots of fun together. They enjoy many activities together including skiing, fishing, working out, or just hanging out at Ted's house. One of their most memorable moments was when they had the opportunity to go flying together in a Cirrus plane and Isaiah got to be the pilot for a bit!
In addition to having fun, Ted and Isaiah have built a strong relationship through their match. Now they are able to better read each others moods and have created several inside jokes together and shared a lot of of laughter. Isaiah really looks up to Ted and Ted is always mindful of his own behavior and his position as a role model. Ted says that his has been a wonderful experience with Isaiah and that they have each made a long lasting impact on each others lives.
Congratulations to Ted and Isaiah for being March's Match of the Month!
