Match of the Month

Takiiya and Deborah

Congratulations Takiiya and Deborah for being Mentor Duluth's November Match of the Month!

Takiiya and Deborah have been matched for nearly a year and have had a lot of fun together. Takiiya has a lot of responsibility at home, and takes part in a lot of extracurricular activities such as piano lessons, choir and drama. But she and Deborah still manage to spend time together, and they especially enjoy going to plays, cooking, going for walks down by the lake, and swimming and working out together at the YMCA.

They also enjoy going to the library together and having some Coneys afterwards. Takiiya is a really good cook and she even won a "best cake" award at her school. Takiiya is still trying to teach Deborah how to skate, and Deborah is hoping to get Takiiya to go on a long(er) hike soon.

Deborah says that being Takiiya's friend and mentor has helped both of them to try new things and expand their horizons.
